Urban planning and realization competition
Mühlpfad / Herrengrund, town of Schwaigern
The design takes up the urban and topographical dimensions of the city of Schwaigern and by strengthening and deepening the existing structures creates a new interpretation of the grown cultural landscape. Central elements are the connection of the old and the new city through an esplanade and the creation of a nature park in the natural depression of the urban expansion area. This creates three new residential areas, each with its own identity but which continue to have their central functions in the “old” town of Schwaigern.
The connection through the esplanade and the nature park creates a new urban space, attractive for the residents of the “old” city and becomes a place that people like to visit on the way to the train or a walk on the Heuchelberg. Overcoming the old city limits seems self-evident. It is a constantly busy path, walk and play area.
